Vena cavography obtained the day after catheter-directed thrombolysis shown in Fig.1b and immediately after manual aspiration and mechanical thrombectomy that was performed because much of the thrombus remained with catheter-directed thrombolysis alone. Shown are trapped thrombi filling the inside of the filter(arrows). This filter was retrieved under protection of pulmonary embolism with a temporary filter inserted from the right subclavian vein with its tip positioned at the supra-renal level and was replaced with another new GTF. Then further thrombolysis administered through the catheter positioned in the thrombosed segment was continued in the ward.
